Our Birth
How does it feel to come out of a long, dark tunnel in search of a piece of deep blue sky? You may or may not like the metaphor. But something similar was felt when the Panchakot Mahavidyalaya Teachers’ Council unanimously resolved to publish an academic journal (multi disciplinary) from the college. We did live before that. We did retain the rightful option ‘to pause’, ‘rust unburnished’, and ‘make an end’, ‘as though to breathe were life’. But then suddenly a door opens, a light flickers, a call comes and a journey is undertaken which in spite of its rigour, leads to a thrill, expression, may be not dazzling, but contrary to the fashionable practice of recent times, assuredly not copied. Panchakot, poor and unpolished as ever, but never in ‘borrowed robes’, SAYS; says for sixty four pages.  A little lamp also contributes to the festival of light. A sincere search and re-search, view and re-view of ‘meaning’ also arrives at a point. Then, whether that is academically successful or not, you will judge. Our task has been to arrange the dish. And we wait for your constructive feedback.

We convey our sincere thanks and gratitude to the Vice chancellor, Burdwan University, to our patrons, to the members of the College Governing body and advisory Committee, to our Principal, to the non-teaching and teaching colleagues and contributors, to the students, well wishers, printers and every body concerned. It is only a collective effort that can accomplish such an enterprise. Still, for any unintended mistake or error, we acknowledge our responsibility and commit to rectify at the earliest.  

Frequency
We publish two issues every year: SUMMER (May) & WINTER (November).

Nomenclature
Each year has a specific Volume (Vol) which cronologically increses by 1.
Each year has two issue numbers (No), May (called No.1) & November (called No.2)

First Issue
The first issue was published on May 2010 as the Summer Issue and was named Vol.1 No.1.

Editor-in-Chief Policy
The Principal of the college is the defacto editor-in-chief.
